is an all-weather event, and it will be held, rain or shine. And if y'all don't
believe that, just ask anybody who attended the rally during the Great Monsoon
of Y2K.

The rally finally, officially, and absolutely ends at high noon on Sunday.
Sunday morning would be a good time to pick up some last-minute bargains in the
vendor mall. All campers must be prepared to break camp and vamoose no later
than 3:00 PM.

Saturday, the party will start rockin around 7 p.m. with legendary music by The Guess Who. They pioneered Top 40 hits in the late 60’s and 70’s including the rock anthem American Woman. The popularity The Guess Who has increased tremendously due to the strength and reputation of their live performances. Ironically it was “American Woman” from March of 1970 that gave The Guess Who a #1 single in the U.S., unseating The Beatles for three weekends straight. The top 10 album, also entitled “American Woman” contained the hits “No Sugar Tonight/New Mother Nature” (The B-Side of American Woman”), which also went to #1 in Billboard for three weeks. This new trend of having double sided singles both going to #1 was a rare occurrence, only achieved by Elvis, The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, The Guess Who and Creedence Clearwater Revival.

Last year we were pleased to recognize a true American Hero with an on-line nomination contest. Our panel of judges had their work cut out for them in selecting one winner who was presented a bike at during our Saturday night concert events.
Thanks to master builder Troy Nicholson and sponsor Lightning Cycle Works, ROT is proud to salute the men and women who have served for our country.
The Military Bike Build Giveaway is guaranteed to be a great experience for all to see. We plan to capture the entire build of this awesome bike over the 3 days during construction with video equipment to document this enormous feat.
Joining this year’s great builder line-up, Troy Nicholson of Lightning Cycles will be assembling a bike for the 2007 ROT Military Bike Give-Away.
Guidelines for Entries:
- Must have served in the military
- All services and branches of the military eligible
- All entries accepted on-site only and must be
present to WIN
- Must present an active duty military ID, retired military card, or s/n number
- Can also enter by presenting membership card to VFW or American Legion
- Deadline for entries on-site will be Saturday noon, June 2, 2007
ROT personnel will draw 3 lucky names and each will be issued a key. All 3 contestants will have an equal opportunity to start the especially designed bike to WIN. One Bike One Winner!
Disclaimer: ONLY military veterans are eligible to participate. Title cannot be transferred until soldier identification has been verified. Second place and 3rd place rules shall be announced during presentation on Saturday during bike giveaway. Expected time of giveaway is 7:00 p.m.

The Big Texas Chop-Off

The Big Texas Chop-Off is and Invitational Builders Show and Competition paying out $10,000 in cash. Prize money will be awarded to the top three finishers, $7,000 to first, #2,000 to second, and $1,000 to third. In addition to the prize money, the main purpose of the “Chop-Off” will be to find and recognize builders that have not yet received the notoriety that they deserve given their talents and passion for custom building motorcycles.
The ‘unseen’ entries will be unveiled Friday on the Thunder Dome mezzanine and judged on Saturday by ROT’s 2007 featured builders. Winners will be announced on the Thunder Dome stage at 4:30, Saturday. (Judging is based on one of the most progressive methods of today’s judging; designed and influenced in great part by top shows in the country and the 2006 group of featured builders. Among the criteria is a ?-mile ride, technical innovation, ingenuity, and revolutionary design.

Park in a lot near the tracks and the tram will pick you and your friends up on the next run around the circuit. It starts with an escorted parade that leaves the rally site at 7:30 PM sharp. Hundreds of bikers parade through the streets to the downtown area where the real party begins! Come out to the 2007 ROT Rally and experience one of the most unique and enjoyable party atmospheres you will find anywhere.
Years ago the first bikes negotiated the 10-mile route to Austin's famous dining and entertainment district while the last bikes were still waiting to leave the Expo Center. This monster parade is witnessed by the entire city of Austin who line the streets along the entire route to watch ROT Rumble by in Big Texas fashion.
This year we leave the parade in style and dignity. Leading the parade will be the dignity memorial Vietnam Wall along with the World Famous Budweiser Clydesdales. Our commitment to Cook Walden parks is to support a ride with as many bikes to break a record of bike escorts preceding the wall. The Dignity memorial wall is a replica of the wall located in DC. Whether on the sidelines of the route, or on Congress or on the back of a bike….make sure to waive your flags.

In partnership with Cook-Walden Capital Parks in Austin, ROT is promoting the arrival of the Dignity Memorial Vietnam WallTM during rally week this year with a record-breaking motorcycle escort downtown to Congress Avenue Friday night. The Dignity Memorial Vietnam WallTM is a ¾ scale traveling replica of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Washington D.C. and is dedicated to those who served in Vietnam and honors all veterans of the US Military forces. Thousands of local Vietnam veterans and patriotic ROT-goers will be riding their chrome-coated, piston-firing choppers, hogs, low-riders and more in honor of this great memorial. Plan to make history on your pre-ride on Thursday, and arrive on time to break records on Friday. This will be an unprecedented ROT event not to be missed.

World Famous Budweiser Clydesdales |

The Anheuser-Busch Clydesdales were formally introduced to August A. Busch Sr., President of Anheuser-Busch, Inc., by his son on April 7, 1933. Prohibition had just been repealed, and to commemorate the event, the hitch thundered down Pestalozzi Street in St. Louis, carrying with it the first case of post-Prohibition beer from the St. Louis Anheuser-Busch brewery.
Our official title sponsor this year Budweiser, will be bringing the Clydesdales to the rally site. For a 3 day period, you will have a chance to take photos with them. Be on the lookout for the BUD Tent for other great photo taking as the National Poster beauty will be on hand signing autographs.
The Clydesdales will be on-site downtown Friday night for a special appearance joining the congress party and parade.
