Hey ROT Nation! We are looking for creative types to design our official artwork for the 2012 ROT Rally. This call goes out to all artists including Tattoo artists, T-Shirt designers, illustrators, graphic artists and just about anybody that loves to design and is familiar with what we are all about. We figure if you guys are going to wear it, why not have an opportunity to create it. Take a look at some of the artwork from ROT Rallies past for inspiration, but we are looking for some kick ass, fresh ideas so be creative. Designs should be 100% newly created original artwork. Think Texas themed biker art.
You’ve heard what’s in it for us. Now what’s in it for you? We will start taking submissions for the contest during the first week of November, 2011. The deadline for the contest is January 15th, 2012. All submissions will be reviewed by ROT Rally staff members and we will choose what we judge to be the best representation of the ROT Biker Rally. The decisions of Rally staff members are final and we reserve the right to refuse all entries.
The Winner of the contest will be awarded $1000.00 and will have their work screen printed on 2012 Official ROT Rally merchandise which will be available both at the Rally and in our online store at www.rotrally.com/store. We will announce the winning artist on our website and all social media outlets. The grand prize of $1000.00 constitutes payment to the artist and all proprietary rights for the artwork will be transferred to the Republic of Texas Biker Rally.
Secondly, we are looking for alternate designs. The ROT Rally would like the opportunity to purchase your submission for alternate designs as well. We will pay $250.00 to the designer of each alternative design chosen. The fee of $250.00 for an alternate design constitutes payment to the artist and all proprietary rights for the artwork will be transferred to the Republic of Texas Biker Rally.
How to Participate Contestants must be registered members of our website so login or create a free account at www.rotrally.com . Once registered, please send your submissions, concerns or questions to art@rotrally.com. Submissions should be watermarked and in .pdf format and should be no larger than 8.5 x 11 @ 72 dpi. We will request the final hi-resolution artwork from our winner and from artists whose work we would like to purchase.
We are psyched and looking forward to seeing what ya’ll come up with. So get to work ROT nation! Let’s see whatcha got! ROT Biker Rally

why don't ROT have the wining artist sign his winning artwork to be printed on all shirts
If the artist was onsite at the registration area during set times to sign merchandise with the logo would be kewl! Jus saying! :-)
Please tell me what I cannot put on this shirt?
Just wondering if there was anyway we could see like the top 10 picks of artwork? I think it'd be great to showcase some of the better work that ROT has gotten. Would be even better if we all got to vote on which we liked best. Just a thought. I know it'd take a lot of extra effort but what the heck. I know.. it isn't as if there isn't a million other things on yalls plate this time of year.
I was wondering when you would announce the winners for the Art Contest and how you were going to notify them? Also, will y'all let all the participants know when you have chosen the winners, or will it all be announced on here? Thanks!
Still not gonna post the artwork that won.... hell why not post all of it or maybe at least the top 10. I, for one, would like to see all the handy work that was received. Even i f we don't get to vote for it we can give our comments on what we like best. It would also be a cool incentive for next year if people knew their artwork would receive recognition even if they didn't win. Maybe a top 25 or top 10. Just my thoughts and I'me sure all who get on here would agree.
Any word on the final design?
