Is there any news as to whether Brett will be replaced saturday night? News release makes it pretty clear he won't be preforming before at least August.

is ROT ging to get a replacement band due to Michaels injuries.

As of now, Bret's management thinks he'll be able to play. They are expecting, maybe hopings a better word, that he'll be back on stage May 26th. Personally, I don't see how, but we'll see.

well whatever is decided i'm still lookin forward to hangin out at the ROT

I heard on the radio today that he is walking and talking although it is painful to talk? They said he is expected to leave where ever he is staying by this weekend. Maybe we'll be his first gig after all of this. Wouldn't that be cool.

He's been released from the hospital!! He is supposed to take it easy for 4-6 weeks. But he's out! That is awesome.
They said that 2 different test determined he didn't have an anuerism so they don't know what caused the hemorrhage.

Damn that is good news, but if it was me I would sure want to know what happened and if it can happen again.
I prefer the party to the concert but I hope he makes it to ROT and rocks the house.
(Woo hoo just 76 more points until I am not a rookie!)
Who is the moron that thought up this point system anyway?

I agree, I'd want to say "Keep looking, doc!" I am happy for him to be getting such good news from the doc. They say he should make a 100% recovery!!
Most forums have ranking/point systems or just a running tally of the posts. I go to a fishing site that starts you out as a minnow and you wind up a Great White Shark. Its just a fun way to show who is the most supportive of the forum and website.

Glad to hear that he is doing better, but I have to say that I would want to know what caused it before I pushed myself too hard. I heard that he has a tenacious will to survive.
As for the ratings, Doesn't matter one way or another for me. Just want to be able to lurk or chat whenever I am on the site.
Speaking of chat, is there going to be a chat function or have I just overlooked it?

Nope, no chat function here. But it rarely got used on the other site. I don't think I caught anyone in there this year. Last year it was utilized but not this year.

I agree, as much as I would like for him to start his comeback with us I don't think that it's in his best interest. But he's still listed as the headliner on the home page.
Spirit do you know if they're checking into getting someone else?

I'm confident its a sure bet they have a backup plan in place if Bret can't do it, but I have no idea what that plan might be.

hello all, just wanted to throw my name out here and get in the mix, hopefully Brett will make a full recovery soon, would love to see him at ROT but I agree with the rest, he probably should take it easy and not rush back too soon

I looked in the chat room everytime I logged on and there were never chatters in there. Always a big ol "0".

I too looked in the chat rooom every time I logged it to see if someone was there. But never saw anyone or when I wrote something, didn't get an answer from them.

I'm not a big fan of his music and yes I posted negative comments about the ROT being able to do better!! But if this guy shows up and plays I'll be one of the first down there on the front row cheering Brett on!!! I hope many will come out to support Brett!

I feel the same way. I have never heard of Bret but i have heard of his group.
I was never a big fan of that type of music but it would be rockin if he walks on stage
after all he's been through. He is one tough dude......This ROT would be one for the
record books if he makes an appearance. " And the crowd goes wild".....

Ok, dont get me wrong! I LOVE Brett Michaels mainly the Rock of LOve show and I use to rock out to him in diapers. He was in my home town last year and didnt put on that great of a show at all; it maybe because he was shooting the show but, that is NO excuse. I just think ROT is taking a GAINT step backwards having him as the Headliner on Saturday. When are we going to get Lynard Syknard or ZZ Top. This is just my feelings other may NOT agree.

I can see where you're coming from. Of course, I have nothing against Brett Michaels, or the Mormon Tabernacle Choir, for all that matters. But it's a question of what's appropriate for a biker rally. I was a little askance at the Blood Sweat & Tears headline - a horn jazz band??? At ROT? When I visualize a biker rally, I think along the lines of a power chord band playing "Proud Mary."

Although I'm not a huge fan of Brett I'll stand up and cheer if he makes it on stage. I will also say I think he needs to remember his health is far more important than his performance at this point. I do however wish someone would make a decision soon so we cam start making our own plans.
Take care and God bless Brett.

I agree with the sentiment that I hope Brett has a full recovery. I for one enjoyed the music that Poison put out(time & place), but am totally let down that ROT cannot get any hard rock acts in here to play for such a large rally that it has become. Live music capitol of the world and this is what they provide. Shame on them.

I just got off Bret's website and they say He will resume all his concert dates starting May 25 or 26, so He will be at ROT and I bet He rocks just because He will be so thankful to be alive and will feed off of the energy and love we show Him. I'll be rootin' for Him!!!!

I've never been a big Bret Michaels fan myself, but my girlfriend likes him and it would be cool if she got to see him, this is her first ROT Rally too.
Posted: 05/17/2010 03:31 PM
I agree on ROT's main lineup, it always seems a little second rate for such a large rally.
I think it is a money thing.
on the other hand the secondary stage music is the best every year.
