Pat Travers and his band played circles around any band in the late 70's and 80's. His bandmates, Pat Thrall, and Bassist Mars Cowling, along with phenom drummer, Tommy Aldridge were the tightest and funkiest!!!!

I first saw him in 1979 (Sunday, August 26): Cotton Bowl in Dallas (General Admission - $15.00)

Officially called "The Last Concert of the Last Weekend of the Last Summer of the Seventies", aka "Farewell To A Texas Summer".

He does have a very large and loyal fan base who call themselves "Hammer Heads". ("Snortin' Whiskey, Drinkin' Cocaine")

Neil, are there any bands you haven't seen or don't know about?  Your exposure and knowledge of musical artist amazes me!!

Was that the concert where Billy Squire started Children of the Sun and have way through the opening, dramatic music lost power and had to reset everything up then started in the middle where he left off rather than restarting (like he should have)?  I went to one of those HUGE Dallas concerts where he played and that happened -- I just can't remember which concert it was.  I was thinking it was Texxas Jam, but maybe it was this one.

Yes it was that concert! But it was  Billy Thorpe not Billy Squire  he released the space opera, Children of the Sun, which peaked in the top 40 of the Billboard Pop Album chart in 1979.

I remember thay played the intro the song and when he hits the first note, the Amp's blew up.

We had to wait 2 hours in the hot sun for new Amp's from houston.

I meant Billy Thorpe.  And yep -- that's the one.  He should have started over instead of picking up where he left off.  I was highly disappointed! lol
