Since some of us more displaced ROT travelers can't quite get all the way to the other side of Austin for the famous W.E.T.N.I.P.P.L.E., we decided to organize our own little night-before-ROT event.  To that end, we're meeting up at Ford Park just outside of Beaumont on I-10.  There are a couple RV parks there where we'll park and set up camp.  I know there are a few fellow Florida-based ROT participants, and many in-between.  We figure to get there about 4:30 or 5pm on Tuesday the 7th, grill some steaks, and tell tales of the fun we've had while anticipating all the fun we're about to enjoy.  We'll break camp the next day to be in line for ROT entrance around noon.

And who knows, Ford Park might just be hosting some kind of concert or event to enjoy that same evening. 

So if you can't get to the W.E.T.N.I.P.P.L.E., come on over to the SEE-N-BOOBIES and enjoy a frosty beverage with us!

sounds like a great idea!!!!!! we live 55 miles east of beaumont(mont belvieu). have to put this on the calender unless we head to austin that day instead.

Hmm...an R.A.A. patch???   Now, I thought about entering the ROT Art Contest; seeing how I have a hard time drawing a straight line with a ruller, I decided to have another beer, instead.  Then I remembered (the beer obviously helping) that the kids who occupy an office in my shop area do T-Shirt and other silk screening things. 

So Bebop, you now have me thinking that I might have a way for them to pay their rent in trade (since they're sort of the starving artistic types...this will help them out a bit).  

Just need to come up with the R.A.A. logo, patch and T-shirt designs!!!  Probably adding in S.O.B., M&G and FUB versions as demand dictates.

Can't wait 'til June!!!

Tigerpilot and I have spots reserved in one of the RV parks there by the Ford Park.  Need to discuss with the park owners their inclination to have a 'pre-party' on their yard.  We're thinking we could use one of the large parking areas around Ford Park as an alternate spot.  They still are yet to post their summer concert lineup.  In a perfect world, Ford Park would be hosting a major concert Tuesday and we could enjoy that, too.

SO...for now we have the general location with an arrival time around 5pm.  From there, as we get more info, we'll put out the details.  Hopefully, there are other ROT Addicts enroute and Ford Park is a convenient stop along the way.

I was able to get a spot about two weeks before ROT last year. There are several of us already booked for Tuesday night. Only thing I hook up is the electric and leave trailer attached for a quick getaway.

Hey there Rocket, I live here in Beaumont. Let me know if theres anything i can do to help out with the get together. Im part of the local Chef's Association so maybe i could get some food hook ups. Let me know. Titties and Beer Forever>>>>LOL

Hmmm...  I don't know if I can make it to Beaumont in one day. Google says from my place in GA to Beaumont is about 11 hours. But hey, it could happen.

So...getting closer to June, so time to make some plans.  Geno, Tigerpilot and I will arrive at the Gulfcoast RV park about 5pm (traffic allowing...maybe 4:30).  Plan to just hookup the electric and maybe the water.  We're side-by-side, so we should be easy to spot...look for the big Outlaw MH with a Winnie MH and a Raptor pull-behind.  Plan to grill and enjoy a few libations through the evening.  Looks like Ford Park is 'idle', so traffic will 'hopefully' be light.

If anyone else is coming from 'the east' and wants to join up, please PM me and we can go from there.   Email works as well.
