It may not be too cold for some, but it is for me!  Guess if I didn't live on the (warm) coast and owned cold weather gear it would be okay, but I do and I don't so I'll leave the cold weather riding to those that are equipped.  Not that we don't ride all winter, we do ... its just that "too cold" is rarely a necessary part of our vocabulary. :D

You are lucky. Here is Austin it isn't horrible but I still have plenty of 20-40 degree days to ride to work.
I do not know how people up north can handle not riding for 3-5 months of the year, I would go nuts.

The fog, wind and damp air in Austin makes it feel like it's 20 degrees colder than it realy is.

Yesterday we headed out to San Jac Harley with everyone in short sleeves - except me.  I had on a long sleeved tee under a sleeveless Harley shirt.  Everyone said I was going to burn up.  Even cold natured Eileen was in short sleeves and plenty warm.  About 2 miles from the house I took a picture of the clouds because it looked like a front line.  30 seconds later the temp dropped about 20 deg .. it WAS a front line!  Stopped when we got to the highway and put on light jackets.

We decided to blow off the 150 mile trip to San Jac and decided to stay "local" instead.  Went rode over to West Columbia and went to Varner Hogg Plantation and walked around.  It was fun looking around at all the old stuff.  We left in our light jackets but by the time we hit the highway we decided leather was in order.  Its a good thing we had our heavier gear from the last ride still on the bike.  Then we went to Smithart's in Angleton and had Chicken Fried Steak for lunch.  On the way home we stopped by our local HD dealer, Goe.

It was a nice ride ... would have been better if were sunny and a little warmer ... but it was still enjoyable to get out on the bike, spend the day with friends and enjoy good eats.

Spent my spare time teaching my 14 year old neighbor Kelly how to back up and parallel park a car.  She did good and not once did I have to scream for my life, lol.

You just have to watch out for the ice! Don't think we'll have to worry about that  this year, I don't know maybe it will snow in the middle of March LOL..... It is Texas!!

ok we had our Texas blizzard now, it's times for spring and some riding! I'm like you Clay, this back and forth crap is killing me, both sickness and mood. Who the hell can stay in a good mood when the best you can do is sit inside all day. Dammit we live in texas and demand some warm weather. I wanna hear the roar of the pipes and I don't mean as it sits and idles just to keep it charged and ready to roll.

Its cool down here too.  And cloudy, rainy.  Yuck.  I'm glad Ft. Worth will be pretty next week.  I'll be making that trip the first part of the week.  My grandmother passed away this morning ... expected, but hard.  She was 97!!  Anyway, I'm glad it won't be all cold and blustery!

Josh wants to ride up, I would love to ride with him but I haven't had Babydoll on the road much so I'd be a little gun shy on her on a ride that far.  It would be nice though. :)

So sorry to hear about your Grandmother. I think you should put on your leathers and ride up with Josh in your Grandmothers memory. He'll watch out for you and so will she! My best bud Dan passed away the day before I took the motorcycle safty course. I almost blew it off but I knew he would have been realy mad at me. I felt him watching over me the whole time. He's the only reason I got back on the bike after I droped it, went flying threw the air and got hurt. Just do it Spirit and ride like the wind knowing she is with you!!! Just ride her up the road a few times to get the feel of her again and hall ass on down the road with Josh. I think they would both love that.
