Today is mine and Timbo's 31st anniversary.  This old poem I wrote for a Valentine many moons ago still holds true today.  I'm a blessed woman.  Looking forward to dinner at On The River with my sweetie. 

 

When I was just a little girl
I hoped one day to find
Prince Charming waiting in the wings
Loving, caring and kind

When I got a little older
And I used to play house
I added helpful and hardworking
To the requirements of my spouse

When I started dating
I found boys could be such jerks,
So I added thoughtful and considerate
To my dream man's perks.

After wedding Larry
And experiencing mortal hell
I added sane and non-aggressive
And a few more things as well;

A man would need a steady job
A home and no plans to move -
Manage his money and pay the bills
Not late, but when they're due;

He'd have to possess maturity
With no felonies on file with the State
And hopefully be good looking
Before I accepted a date.

It seemed like such a big long list
I never thought to find
Anyone to fill the bill
There aren't many of that kind.

But I was lucky and I found you
I have loved you from the start,
You put butterflies in my belly
And flutters in my heart.

You are my soulmate
We were destined from the start
From the moment that I saw you
You have owned my heart.

You are everything i wanted
You are all that I dreamed of
You are everything I hoped for
You're my husband - you're my love!

Congrats!! that is such an accomplishment in this day and age. and what a great poem, that every girl needs to read. my husband and I have have been together 31 yrs and will celbrate our 27th wedding anniversary tis year. I fell in love with a boy that grew into a wonderful man. I am very blessed to have him.

Thanks kawagirl!  I didn't know Timbo nearly that long before we got married.  We met on a blind date April 27th 1981 and got married 12 days later on May 9th. 

Spirit- sounds like my parents they got married after 5 days, and ws married for 46 yrs when my dad passed. I probably would have married him ASAP, but I was only 13 and he was 15, so we had to wait.

Sometimes I really wish this forum had a "Like" button. :)

Thanks everyone.  Its was a great anniversary!  When Tim got off work, we went to our favorite restuarant, On The River, for dinner.  When we arrived there was a beautifully appointed, candlelit table with a dozen red roses awaiting our arrival - my husband did more than work yesterday! lol  I was so surprised!!  It was a great night....and a fantastic anniversary!

 

Looking forward to the next 31!

Congratulations.  Denise and I celebrated our 31st anniversary last October.  We have to be doing something right.  Lookng forward to next month.

Now Neil, we are trying to convence her that we are good people and that she realy wants to meet us. We call home to check on our loved ones (in my case my dog and I'm thinking about getting a fish or something) and mostley normal till we get to ROT and turn in the kids again cause we are sick of being grown up, lmfao. Come on Mrs. Ditch, come and meet us!!
