I've stayed at the Omni a couple of times... rates just keep going up and up. It's about $250-300 per night. Too much, I think they are weeding out the bikers - screw em. This year, I went on price line and got the Hilton for $110 (w/taxas $130)
Advantage to Omni, if you plan on hitting 6th street for drinks... its easy to drop your scoot off at the hotel and walk the 1 1/2 blocks down hill to the bars.

Speaking of having a few drinks on 6th street. We stay at a hotel about 10 miles
away from 6th. When partying down there, we take the bus down there and a cab
back to the hotel. Total bus fare: $3.00
Total Cab Fare: $ 30.00
No DUI: PRICELESS
There's so many bikes down there, nobody would miss mine anyways.

Well, AIM HIGH, I have to agree. I like a few dozen cold ones just like the other guys, but - I'm my line of work, I've seen WAY TOO MANY that didn't need to go down all because they wanted to save $20 on a cab. Then it reflects back on everyone. Praying for a safe Rally.
I don't blame the local POPO... Austin is full of none-driver's to start with, add on the Univ of Texas weekend - it's safer riding 290 at 1am sometimes LOL.
Take care,

NICELY SAID you can have a good time while keeping ur senses...when humans believe "it won't happen to me", that's when we need to more cautious
