The local RV outlet in 'lower Alabama' held an RV show this weekend. Guy asked my wife and me 'which one of these units has your name on it?' We responded, "the one that holds the golf cart and the motorcycle for our ROT Rally trip!" He hung his head and admitted that of the 100+ units they'd brought, only four were toy haulers, and those were all trailers--we were looking at the Class A's. He said we were about the 50th one to ask for something that would haul the toys along without having to add a trailer.
That said, they DID have one which would be SWEET on our end Purple parade route spot that parallels the parade route. It was a 45' class A motor home with a 20-foot slide out elevated porch making for a balcony OVER the parade route! No need to worry about getting run over by idiots with more testosterone than common sense and what a view!
Now looking at a Newmar Canyon Star 3920 Toy Hauler instead...big upgrade from the Hobbi200 trailer we've got now!
Is it June yet???

Hay Chuck, are y'all going to get that space on the corner again? What's your last name? I'd like to hook up with y'all on facebook.

You still have 2 spaces? You gonna use both of them? I'm gonna try to get that one next to y'all on the corner. Did you talk to the guy that was there last year much? Think he'll want it again?

I am proud to say we traded our 1994 34' Gulfstream Motorhome with a slide for a 2011 30' Raptor V-nose with a slide and oh yeah and it's a toy hauler! Can't wait to take it to the rally. No more pulling that big trailer. Come on June!

My best friend, wingman from Desert Storm, and riding partner just picked up a V-nose Raptor 33FS in North Carolina--it's very nice and has the rear bed that doubles as a rear seat looking out the back. He's already laid claim to one of our two spots for ROT 2011 (E-row in Purple). And I just got the Bill of Sale on our new (to the missus and me) Damon Outlaw motorhome that I'll pickup in a few weeks in Miami. We'll have it at the other end of Purple C-row as Spirit's camp...on the corner with Lime. Already laying out the plans for the arrangement of the pool, walk-up 'watering hole', canopy and viewing stand...Got spots for Daytona Bike Week and to Talledega NASCAR as warmups. Let's skip winter and go directly to late spring!!!
Can't wait to get the notice that our spots are available!!!
PS....the Email Notification system is back to working. Got a ROT Webmaster email that wasn't blank. Once again, the ROT Staff ROCK!!

On the way back from Miami with the new (to us) Damon Outlaw. WOW!! Lots more space and it handles way better than I'd expected.
IS IT ROT TIME YET????

Congrats Rocket! So how can we arrange the campers to make a "courtyard" between all of them? ha
