We're making ROT a week-long event, even if the ROT staff seem set on keeping it at four days. To do that, we're leaving NW Florida Friday afternoon on the 1st in order to make the Nickelback concert in Houston the 2nd. We'll hit Joel Osteen's LaKewood Church Sunday (always wanted to see it 'live'), then head to San Antonio for the River Walk Sun & Mon. Tuesday we plan to be in Austin--not sure where we'll park yet. Regardless, we'll be in line early for checkin Wed. As for the pool, there's a spigot at the Lime/purple corner across from our lot. We ran a long hose for Todd to fill his...if your spot is close, we can run a hose to you. Of course, you are welcome to our pool on the 'ROT n Purple C-37/36/35'. Will have a 10-ft pool unless there are mor interested...then I'll bring the 12-ft x 48" pool. More as Eric &I get it sorted. Rockett

We are bringing our pool again, we are moving up to a 12 person pool. I stayed in green section 2 years ago and if you are in the right place you can get access to a water spicket, bring at least 200 ft of hose. Water will cost you around $100 - $200 if you buy it off the truck and of course your pool size. With as many people you will meet I would'nt bother with a pool. Our pool is always open and welcome! The end of purple section on the parade route is quite a party, I'm very close to Rocket III's group!

I'll be coming down on Tuesday and spending the night at Oak Forest RV. Its about a mile from the expo center. I've stayed there the past two years and was able to get in line early. Nice place.

For those coming in on Wednesday, don't forget that Wednesday is an early setup day - not a rally day.  If your space has power, you may not have any on Wed.  (But you probably will.)  Also, the vendors are closed.  There is no food for sale on site.  There is no beer for sale onsite.  The rally actually starts on Thursday.

That being said, I love Wednesday nights.  Just people riding around seeing who they know that is back.  Offering to help when it looks like extra hands are needed.  Raiding storage boxes to find adapters or hoses that your neighbor needs to get hooked up.  Its just a great night to get a feel for the Expo Center and meet people.

My 8th year at ROT, 6th year staying on sight in a RV.  So far I have always been able to make it in on Wedensday.  I think its the best day.  Get to set up camp, fill the pool, run around and find the old freinds and meet new ones.  Sounds like the new ones are active on the forum and should be easy to find.  Cant wait to meet yall!!!  If ya need any help setting up your new/used RV's let me know.  The Fun FInder is the 5th RV I have owned and think I have most of them figured out, lol.  Purple C-6 is my lot.  Rockett sounds like he is pretty good with the Rv's to.  Just look us up if ya need any thing!!!

I feel your pain, I got laid off the week before Thanksgiving. Looking for work and up-dating our resumes take up more time than we ever thought it would. I'm sick of hearing "over qualified" or "under qualified" because I'm not bi-lingual. No pregitisom intended. I think some of it has to with my age. Lookimg more and more like I'm going to have to relocate up toward Dallas where maturaty is appreciated, lol. Dam it, I dont want to move. Already moved 3 times over the past 2 years.
