Kind of last minute plans being made to attend ROT.  I have to work until Friday and was thinking about heading out early Saturday with the wife to stay the night.  Here are my question:

If we arrive saturday around noon, are we going to have a problem finding a spot to pitch a tent?  This would be our first trip out so I am not sure what the layout looks like.

Absolutely not!  For a place to just put a tent for the night - not a space to spend several days in - there's tons of places available.  Prime real estate is basically non-existent - but there are still good spots.

Since I don't even own a tent yet, I just might have to go this route.Smile

It may not be a great place but yeah, there's always a spot for everyone. Just give the folks around a smile and hello and they'll prolly offer to help ya pitch ya tent as well as welcome ya to the Rally with a cold one.

As I read down this thread I kept thinking someone would comment on the "pitching a tent" parts. Y'all never let me down. Thats why I love this place.

OK, I have another question.  Is ice available at the rally site or is this something you have to pack in from outside?

You can buy ice and beer onsite.  Both are a little higher than regular retail but to not have to leave the rally grounds for them is worth quite a bit! :)
