Only in my dreams!!  If I rob a bank or marry for money between now and then, I'm there!!  Neither one is likely, though...

Lots are going.  Are you a rider or a trailer biker?

I rode to Sturgis, last year, and had a blast! If you want quiet at night, Shade valley is nice. I paid 95.00 for duration of rally. Of course, that is for tent camping. Buffalo Chip and Glencoe are the closest to town, and big time party sites every night. I think every biker should make Sturgis, at least one time! I will be with the SOB'rs, and will bring pics from last year. Maybe I can let you know a little of what you are in for.

stursis.com will get you to most all campsites

We will be at Sturgis again this year. This will make 7 of the last 8 years for us. We stay at the Buffalo Chip. And for you information Ruff we trailer up. Sure haven't heard many bikers complain when the were checking out my wife or when we stopped along side the road the help them. But some just want something to gripe about.

I did'nt mean to start a trailer war...lol And to be Honest I am guilty of trailering my scoot before. I have taken alot of shi* for it from my brothers. Heck the first time I attended ROT  I thought they should call it a Golf cart Rally!! Someone hits me with a Golf cart I swear I'm gonna lose it...lol

I just wanted to start a post where fellow TEXANS that far from home maybe get together for a beer or party together. Or if someone needed some help...Someone could trailer your bike home for you..lol

But I do believe it's ALL ABOUT THE RIDE, and whenever possible do that....Now after we get home the Ole Lady wont ride for 2 weeks...lol Cause I dont usually stop except for fuel.

So if any of ya'll wanna connect in South Dakota let me know and we will exchange info or set up a meet and greet.

I go to Sturgis every other yr for the last 12 yrs. Last 2 times we rent a huge house with 5 other couples at the Vet cemetary exit just before the sturgis exit, before that it was Chris's camp ground (great place actually calm and quiet at night) located in Spear fish, before that it was always THE CHIP. But just got tired of 7 days of loud music and drunks with out getting any restfull sleep just to old for that. Also got tired of the open drug usage at the chip. I am all for smoking a joint (I hold high explosive liscence and get drug test every 30 days so NOTHING FOR ME PLEASE) but people leaving crack pipes, and needles around, NOT COOL!!!!! Now we rent the house for $975.00 a couple. It is a 5000sq ft log cabin on top of the large hill about 1 mile behind full throttle. I am actually looking at 2.5 achers in spearfish to buy, clear the lot for now, but really want to build a summer retirement home there.

So, who's riding and who's trailering?  I'm interested in finding other riders going to Sturgis.

Just riders? it is always nice to fall in to a group with 1 chase vehicle with a trailer spare parts and a butt load of tools. That is what I am doing for the ROT I am following a bunch of bikes down to Austin.

Heading out Aug. 8th, trailering from Corpus with our camping gear. I think we're going to stay at Broken Spoke Campground. Returning Aug. 14/15th.

Well, went to Sturgis for the first time this year.  I must say I was dissapointed.   I have always heard that Buffalo Chip is the wildest rally site anywhere.  Well if they call everyone going to bed by 1am wild then I guess it is, but after ROT and BAR, it was like a family rally.  I am glad I went, but it will not be on my high points of going back.   So how many days is it till ROT again??

I stayed in Custer State Park, so I only went to the Full Throttle like once. All the little towns around like Custer and Deadwood had nice little party spots, but definately not the same at ROT. Sturgis is alot bigger though I thought, and great riding. I would imagine it's a little under a year for the next ROT, but I will be going to some in between like Corpus, etc.

Well, I didn't go to Sturgis this year.  Decided to go against the current and rode to the Blue Ridge Parkway, Smokey Mtn Nat'l Park and the Tail of the Dragon.

I may do Sturgis one more time, but it's not the same as when I started (before the porta johns were burned in the city park).

I do wish we could lose the four wheeled things at the ROT.
