i agree spirit but its all the ingenious contraptions that people came up with and invented to ride around the rally that made it so interesting and also the trailers carrried all the party goer's and sorry to say but the naked women that we would throw beads to and enjoy seeing, thats what a rally is! it feels like its all been taken away! now just golf carts with a few people on it,just dont see all the fun crazy times happening anymore! im really sad but like i said i renewed my spot and will see how it goes, just hope it hasn't ruined one of the best rally's in the country! its now the only rally that doesnt allow atv/utv and trailers

Well looking at all the Lots left about 140 it seems there is a few of us that want our utvs included with the carts. and you know by this time there are 100s of people on waiting list for Lots and quite a few people pick up lots as people cancel theirs so what is going to happen now when people cancel their reservations ROT will probably change their cancellation policy so they dont lose anymore money. It is shame when they had such a good thing going, so now having to spend more money to get Ted Nugent and Shooter Jennings to try to get attendance up and still cant do it. Maybe they will change their mind for next year and let all small vehicles run on the route including UTVs and we can all go back to having fun. When we first started going I think we paid less than 100.00 for our lot. Those of you going have a good time and maybe next year we can all go and have a good time!

Check out the vendor map under VISITOR GUIDE. The brown spots are still available. Looks like alot of vendors are not sure about the 2012 ROT.

Yes I notice the brown lots and I now know of at least 5 campsites that didnt know about the UTV rule and they are thinking of cancelling, they think it wont be the fun it used to be.The vendors also look like they are having second thoughts

Yep Bought an RV thought this would be more fun with AC. was going to use the ATV to make visting the vendors and getting to the concerts easier. So with one rule to kill it all, no RV site purchase, no Concert, no spending money at the vendors.

i stll think its bs we cant take our four whellers some people dnt like carts plus you have to charge them for a while with the four wheller all you have to do is put gas in and go they need to change the rules that place is to big to walk around the golf carts are just as big as the four whellers i dont see how it will improve by not have them there

im still trying to stay positive,we have two spots in lime lot and have a lot of fun each year, we are giving this year a chance to see if its sucks, there is always BAR rally that is twice a year now and its right down the road in alvarado, just south of fort worth and they have no restrictions

I've said it once and I'll say it a hundred times... BAR is GREAT! I see it getting better and better every year. Already got my spots for that rally as well. I can't wait.

I agree

I totally agree with you !!! My husband will not get on his chopper after 2 or 3 drinks period. We bought our Rhino for use at the rallies. We use it to go to the vendors, concerts, visit friends in the lots not close to us. We are not big parade route riders, we prefer to sit and party at our campsite in the lime lot and watch the others go by. Why not at least let us use them during the day. There will be just more drunks on 2 wheels. The majority of the wrecks I have seen also involved drunks on motorcycles doing wheelies and burnouts or just going way to fast. 1 guy on a mini bike layed it over right in front of our site sliding up under our neighbors trailer. Youre not going to get rid of the drunk idiots!!! We will be there since Ive already paid for our spot but guess I wont see the vendors or concert this year. Sorry ROT but this will probably be our last year if this rule doesnt change!!!

I have a Golf Cart, having said that I do believe ATV/RTV's should be allowed. This is a Motorcycle rally and Bikes Should have the right of way AT ALL TIMES. I've seen a bunch of people hurt riding on a trailer and totally understand banning the Trailers. But drinking and riding your Bike is way more dangerous than any ATV/RTV. Everytime ROT comes out with More and More rules and increased fee's and charges, they are shooting thierselves in the foot. I've noticed the RV spots still availible when in the past they were gone in a couple of hours. We will attended this year, who knows a smaller rally may be more fun, but I fear the biggest party in Texas is destined for failure. This will be our first year to attend the BAR so we will see.
