Month One: T-Minus 103 Days
In 2012 my father got diagnosed with cancer. The doctors gave him 4 months to live if they didn’t remove the tumor right away. After they removed it and started 5 weeks of harsh radiation, he began to get depressed. He was in such physical pain it started to tear him down mentally. When we got him back home he would go out in the garage and put on one bolt on a bike before getting tired. I realized that he needed that to keep his mind of his pain. We came up with the idea to build a custom bike and document it. We raffled it off to raise money for children with cancer. Now, We have done a bike every single year since 2013. So this year we got the opportunity to not only be part of a charity build, but do it with two other father daughter groups.
The bike we are using was given to us from Royal Enfield. We will be doing all of the fabrication, body work, paint, electrical and installation at home. The only thing that will be out sourced will be the seat which will be done by the very talented Matt Hurtado. As for the details of design, well I’ll just say that it will go from a Continental GT Enfield Cafe to a custom Bobber. We are honored to keep building each year for a different cause and exited to see what the other groups build!
